To help clarify what is expected from each field inspection, we’ve provided a redacted
sample photo sheet below. This serves as a visual guide showing the quality, structure,
and quantity of photos we expect for a basic roof, exterior, and other structure
inspection.
Please take a few minutes to review it thoroughly before your next assignment.
What This Sample Demonstrates:
- Slope - By - Slope Organization:
Each roof slope should include:
- 5-10+ overview photos (depending on size)
- Chalked roof damaged photos. Hail circled, wind with a chalk line.
- Auxiliary components overviews and close ups (e.g., pipe jacks, vents, satellites)
- Slope summary photo with markup (e.g., F: W=8, H=6 PJ=3 Solar=20, etc.)
- Exterior and Other Structures
- 5-10+ Clear overview shots, even when no damage is present
- Close-ups of damage with measurements (e.g., Soffit: 5LF, Siding: 10LF, Window: 4x4)
- Fences, garages, and outbuildings should always be document and measured where
damage is observed. Fence should include LF and the size of the fence. Outbuildings
should be documented as a main dwelling. All Roof slopes (if applicable) and all exterior
elevations and interior (if applicable).
- Chalking and Counts:
- Hail/wind damage requires exact counts of damaged shingles
- Auxiliary components must be individually tallied and documented per slope
General Photo Guidelines (per assignment instructions)
- Minimum of 75 photos, even with no visible damage
- Chalk and count peril-related damage by slope
- Photo all soft metals and note condition
- Include CubiCasa/Hover and if interior damage exists
- For every room you observe during an interior inspection you should have 10 or more overview
photos. If damage is found, there should be close ups and measurements where applicable.
